After market wheels to fit a C5.

I am thinking about some after market wheels for the C5 the only thing is whenever you see a C5 in the UK on after market wheels they tend to be Cray alloys. My son has recently bought these for his 350Z & this would be the kind of wheel I'm after. Does anyone run on anything similar, any pictures / pointers?IMG_20190217_150930.jpgIMG_20190217_140500.jpg

These are Cray wheels, 19'' front 20'' rear. Low profiles fitted to maintain correct rolling circumference. Made for the Corvette and available over here. Other sizes are available if you want to keep to standard sizes.

I am looking for something with a deeper dish, similar to the dish on my sons new wheels I posted at the beginning of this tread. Not sure if Cray do that kind of wheel though.

Wouldn't be interested in these HRE FF01 Flowforms then? I have a set for sale with Pilot Super Sport tyres (previously fitted to a mega low mileage C5 Z06). Direct fit to a C6 and C7. Fits any C5 with a spacer on the back wheels. PM/"Start a conversation" with me if interested.

Rears have quite a deep dish but fronts are quite shallow. Anything more on the front and they start to protrude from the arches

I'm liking the Cray Eagle wheel after checking the uk website however when you check for fitment on any of the wheels the oldest Vette they go back to is the C6? Would C6 wheels fit a C5?

If you like this wheel you can have it, for free, I'll even drop it down to you. Problem is I only have the one. P.s My son went back to China +HK last summer, he's addicted! Frank.

Hi Frank, must admit I do like that wheel, what make is it? What are the chances of getting 3 more of them over here? & How come you have ended up with 1 of them? My son enjoyed China, he is now at work but keeps saying he will go back sooner rather than latter, trouble is he now needs to book it as annual leave & he will be paying this time lol.

Checking the American Cray site, they do make the Eagle for the C5. Not sure about C6 wheels fitting though many have fitted standard C6 wheels to a C5.
I got my wheels from r-tec auto near Hatfield. They quote that they can get any wheel so may be worth contacting?

It’s some sort of BBS replica, name unknown. I had it for a C5 years ago as a spare wheel. Make a good hose reel.

If he is working he can afford it. Franks at Uni and went on the cheap with two mates.

lol I guess it would make a very nice hose reel, good to hear Frank is still getting time to travel whilst studying.

I've got Cray Scorpions from a C6 fitted to my 2002 Camaro. The only requirements were 5mm spacers all round, and a little judicious metal removal on the edges of the rear axle bump stops, but nothing that interferes with their function. A C5 should be a lot easier.

Tyre sizes are 245/40R18 front, and 285/30R19 rears. My Avatar pic is one of the rear wheels. Dish is similar both ends. Just be wary of buying proper chrome-plated wheels. Once they start corroding, they're almost impossible to repair. Almost my only choices are a) after scuff removal some gentle blasting to key the surface, then paint over the chrome in chrome-like silver metallic etc, or b) buy new wheels!

There's a good website that lists all PCDs, bores, offsets etc for almost all cars, I used it quite a bit.

Just wondering, you don't happen to have pictures of them on (what I am assuming was/is) your Z06 do you? I've been googling & there aren't many pictures of that particular wheel on a C5.

Think the video above is probably the best you are going to get showing how they look on C5. I bought these wheels/tyres last year off Adrian Dromey with the intention of putting them on my C6. They came off a C5 Z06 he was selling. They are 19x9.5 front with 255/35/19 tyres. Rears are 20x11 with 305/30/20 tyres. So rear tyres are slightly wider than the 295 rears in the video.
