Might do it again might not, know where my bet is though.

Yes it is the same "Click" as you get with Russian Roulette

Better to lose on the Solenoid.

African Roulette is far more enjoyable, but not something I can post on here.

Barry- the starter solenoid may be worn - there is a copper angled connector in there somewhere - it can corrode/burn from the spark of starting after some years. - you may want to consider changing the stock starter (which has heat problems sometimes esp with headers) fora smaller high torque unit form Summit or others - they vary in price and performance.
Let me know if I can research for you

Hi Keith
Cheers, I have the smaller High Torque unit, probably about 1000 miles ago or less, but I do have a Heat Blanket on it - I wanted a metal deflector but one was not available when I needed it, the issue is probably the Blanket reflects heat away coming from the Headers, but retains any production heat within the Solenoid.

Whether gone or not I may change the Starter when we go through the system and get a shield fabricated to do the job properly - I need to find the Invoice /Spec for the last one, because the one before that (High Torque without a Blanket) had the Solenoid Post connections much closer to the Headers, hence the new one and with Blanket.

I tried it last night in the Garage and it burst into life straight away.

Happy New Year Keith

Trouble is I do not like to hear such a Click, makes me think the Wife is holding a Gun to my Head and is trying to tell me something.

Rofl
