Who to use?

I've always used Dart for years without any problems but recent events have meant that this isn't an option open to me at this time (hopefully it'll all come back together)

Dart are closing up and I know the fella in the workshop is continuing but think he might be a bit overloaded

So who do you guys use? I have a C2 and having Dart a few miles away has given a real comfort.

A little bit stuck

The message that has been given out by the remaining partner is that untill some details are resolved with his deceased partners family Dart is remaining closed for business. Unless anyone has new information either from the proprietors or other official representative please let's not speculate on the future of this business.

Sorry my original post should have said that Claremont are closing

Steve at Dart is planning to re-open but is suffering with his back currently and until it gets operated on he can't do anything. Fingers crossed that gets back on his feet making a speedy recovery, Poor old toad

Re: Who to use?

Ben - Dart are currently closed, Steve is apparently having health issues, but according to Ross there is some solicitor involvement...

Tom is retiring in April and Claremont as know it will close. This from Claremont's website:

Big changes at Claremont Corvette in April 2018! After forty years owning, driving, buying, selling, fixing and restoring Corvettes, Tom is retiring in 2018. But the business will continue!
Aimee Mills, our parts manager since 2012, is buying all the Corvette parts and will move to a unit at Chatham just a few miles up the road, operating as Claremont Corvette Ltd mainly online.
Claremont’s long-term chief technician Matt Davison plans to take over our workshop trading as CCM Vettes Ltd.
The Old Chapel, home to Claremont Corvette since 1986, is being converted into four flats.

A great shame for all of us; but if you look around and are careful there are some great small garages around, Tom is a too far for me to get to generally and I have been using a garage in Christchurch since 1998 for all my Vette work, and yes he has had a few conversations with Tom!

Interesting! Hope Steve's health issues aren't too serious.

I do believe that a good non-specialist mechanic can be trusted to work on the older models if a Vette owner does good research and knows what's needed beforehand. I know a few non-Corvette mechanics that I'd trust.
