Rear spring

Hi All
I have a strange one. My 1980 C3 has a composite rear spring which sits is sandwiched between two rubber pads at ts centre.

Thinking that I should replace these pads as part of the rebuild, I have been surprised
To find absolutely no one out there who sells them.
Unfortunately my 1980 FAM shows a multi leaf spring.

I am starting to think that these pads are an afterthought.

Any ideas?

Re: Rear spring

send an email to Vette Brake Products they supply a lot of composite springs and should be able to help with your question.

yes, it should definitely have the two rubber pads. And, I think it should have two metal "inserts" that prevent the spring being crushed when the fixing bolts are torqued up. All essential items.

As Barry says, try VPB as I've also heard that they will supply the rubbers. The 1981 automatic cars went to a "plastic" rear spring, so I'm assuming yours is aftermarket. It may also be a TRW unit. Same fixing arrangements I think.

Thanks guys.
To close this thread, I contacted VPB, very helpful, and new one on its way.
