1981 Corvette survivor coming soon!

So she has just landed at my friends home in South Carolina as from yesterday, 1981 64,000 original miles he done a 20 minute walk round on face time and it is superb!!
Its colour is 33/39 silver over charcoal, only 5,352 Corvette’s had Two Tone colour schemes and there was only 4 different Two Tone options making this really quite rare bearing in mind there were 40,606 Corvettes built in 1981. Everthing works, even the factory power antenna goes up and down.
He said it drives perfect and he has no worries about driving to the docks ready for its trip back to Blighty, got a small leak on the power steering ram which I will do when it gets home.
Will be getting a couple of jobs done over there first like A/C conversion and re gas and a new set of lug nuts as he said the old ones are a bit flaky but that apart she’s ready to go, I think I will join the NCRS and get it judged, I would like to think it would get survivor status!! It’s even got the original handbook and stereo manual in the glove box.
Will keep posted when it arrives.

Really nice. There's definitely a case for keeping a car like this stock and just enjoying it for what it is.

Is it one owner?, interesting to know what it has been treated to in its life other than routine service items, the A and B Rubbers look good - Time Warp ! Excellent well found!

It’s a 3 USA owner car Barry 1st owner sold it after about 25 yrs of ownership to a engineer who worked for a nuclear plant on the east coast, he moved about quite a bit with his job and the car was in storage for nearly 10 years when it was bought by the guy I got it from, my buddy over there done a video walk around and said it was amazing ( and he is fussy)
We will see when it gets here.
They are still about out there I also got my eye on a 78 anniversary with silly low mileage, generally only look for Southern state cars as it dry and the shipping is cheaper, I’ve a couple of good buddy’s always scouting for things for me as I do like like low mile survivor cars

Although I am all for modifying cars there are some cars so untouched by the years I completely agree with leaving them just as they are.

Cars are only original once. I would rather look at a good original car than a £100k restoration.

My buddy took some underneath pictures, look really tidy, all unrestored even the brake disc dust covers still got the cadmium coating showing.
