Tyres

Hi All
I was in the process of setting up the final rear suspension settings, and was getting concerned about the difference in clearance on each side. To cut a long story short, the culprit was the tyres. They are the same size, same make, same inflation pressure and same age/ wear. However one is a full half inch wider than the other on the walls
I intend to change them before I go on the road, but my question is:- “is this a common occurrence?”

Re: Tyres

I have not come across it on a US type tyre which I presume you have on a C3

With Euro tyres you can get differences with what appears to be the same tyre, when the same "tyre" is specified but designed slightly different for two different cars eg Porsche and Mercedes would have a different spec on some brands.

You may have a degredation issue - if you are changing them do not worry - if you have not actually measured the tyre but you are referring to a clearance distance between the tyre sidewall and "X" that may or may not be an issue.

PS are the wheels of the same width?

Re: Tyres

The wheels are all identical. The tyres are General XP 2000. My concern was with the difference between tyre and trailing arm. At first I thought I had a suspension issue, and I just wondered how common it was.

Have you checked/compared the date codes?

Odd.. Scratchchin

I have a spare set of XP2000's (275/55x16) I just measured them and they are identical, not on wheels though.
