Le Mans 2017

So, while all of you in the UK (and I hope it is all!) are at The Nationals, June and I will be at Le Mans.

It’s the Test Weekend for this year’s race and the Corvettes went through scrutineering at the track today. So, a few photos. The main talking point was the unveiling on the pit apron by Jack Leconte of this year’s Larbre Competition Corvette C7R. To say it is striking is an understatement and apparently, the paint is luminescent, so will “glow” in the dark!
For contrast, a couple of photos of the factory cars…..

Practice is on Sunday, so hopefully we’ll have some shots from that.

Now that is what I call a paint job!!! Great pictures there Stehpen, I was hoping to be there for the race this year but Luke has got A level exams either side of the race weekend so it just wasn't going to be practical this year. Maybe I'll be able to bring him next year, lets hope the Vette's will still be racing in 2018.

Hi Nigel. Sorry that you're not coming, we were hoping to catch up. Luke doing A-Levels makes us feel really old by the way!

That car looks pretty fab close up too - I just hope they don't damage it in practice Smile Hope to get some on track shots tomorrow.....

Re: Le Mans 2017

A few photos from yesterday at the track, during the “practice” session. For the record, the 64 Corvette posted the quickest time in the hands of Olly Gavin, after an engine change just after lunch. The Larbre Corvette was second quickest in the GTLM Am class, just. Of course, we await to see if any of the other teams were actually running flat out, or even providing the telemetry required! The ACO still has the option to “balance” performance, but at the moment Corvette look nicely placed……

Here’s a few shots taken during Scrutineering in the city on Monday and the autograph session last night. I've keot them small, to help me get them uploaded quickly, as we're a bit busy!

The chap in the last photo is the artist who did the Larbre car by the way.

Re: Le Mans 2017

Quali was on real TV last night and I think Motorsports TV will be showing almost all of the race. Dodgy commentary, but at least you see the Le Mans feed.

GT Pro Corvettes 6th and 10th by the way - Fords were still clearly cheating all through testing (you don't need to see telemetry, you can hear the engine note!) and I suspect that Aston and Ferrari learnt not to go for broke too soon! In GT Am, the Larbre car was easily the quickest, and best looking!

Fingers crossed for Sunday at 15h00!
