Insurance


Hi All very shortly I am going to need insurance. I am not going to ask for best insurers etc, but advice on the policy I may need.

Although I have spent a considerable sum restoring my 1980 C3, I am pretty sure an insurance company will place a different value on it.

I am keen to have fully comp, but in view of the age and the body construction of a C3 will insurers give you this?

This will not be my daily car, and will be garaged when not in use. However I do not want to be strapped by a silly usage figure.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Tom Falconer will be continuing to offer insurance valuations for club members. Your insurers will take this value and your insurance cover will be agreed value. Mileage limitation will typically be 5000 miles per annum. All routine stuff.

Hi Derek,

As our leader(Ross) says Tom F will provide an insurance valuation , most classic car insurers will offer discount for being a CCCUK club member and will give you a good quote for a limited mileage classic car policy ...

I have 2 cars with Bewiser insurance but when I renew I am getting quotes from Classic line insurance they seem very competitive ...

Well worth giving AIB a ring. They give discount for Pistonheads members and have insured my Corvette and Dodge with solid cover with the best quotes.

Hi, I insured with hagerty on my first c3 a few weeks ago. I got an agreed value once Id sent them some pictures to prove it, they agreed without question.
I was surprised how cheap it was, half what Im paying on a 1.4 fiesta! They said the price is based on the cars value rather than what it was, so a Morris minor of the same value would be the same price.
Fully comp, rac breakdown, agreed value, and legal cover.
