94 In A 45

"Warm up the tires?" I'd a fired the service manager and tech right on the spot.

Re: 94 In A 45

TBH Norm I thought the drive was rather uneventful - and 'only' 94 mph in a 45 zone - could have been far, far worse. Nevertheless a reprimand for the tech guy and his manager was appropriate. Mistake the service centre made was not responding to the complaint correctly - they should have sided completely with the customer - to the extent of the tech and his his manager making personal apologies to the customer, followed-up by one from the CEO offering the customer a freeby of some kind - they would have kept the customers business - they simply didn't care........ Yes

Nah, I still would have fired them. Most likely not the first time the tech had done that with a customer's vehicle, he just got caught, and the service manager giving such lame excuses, how many times you think he has done that with other customers. Integrity, truthfulness are needed in the stealership world, still so much of that is lacking in that business.

It's quite clearly the CEO and management-down personnel structure of the dealership that is at fault. If they are an authorised GM dealer then perhaps GM should take sanctions against the dealership Scratchchin

Of course, I wasn't there, just my opinion. I have seen the new owner (still serving reservist Army Master Sergeant) of the GM dealer where I take my Vettes and family vehicles do just that, fire folks for not following the rules, one was for mishandling customer's vehicles plus other infractions. Last thing he wants is someone hot dogging out there with a customer's vehicle then gets into an accident with tragic results.......nip it in the bud.

Re: 94 In A 45

I'm with Norm, except that I'd fire the tech and the manager!

To be honest, my alarm bells would have been ringing at the sight of the workshop - it's not my idea of what a main dealer authorised to handle Corvettes should look like.
The attached is a photo of the workshop at our "local" dealership, Chassay in Tours. It's taken from the back of the showroom, which has white floor tiles. The grey tiles denote the 'shop - note the lifts on the left.

Incidentally, the photo was taken during a Corvette Club France visit, for "apperos" supplied and served by Chassay before the club AGM in a nearby hotel.
