Sorry mate, but having been bitten at an early age by a Thesaurus I have developed a tendency to use words of five syllables where ones with one or two might suffice but would not be so elegant or mellifluous (see what I mean?), a love of language, and of some words in particular which have a wonderful resonance, and "pulchritudinous" is one of them.

It comes from the Latin pulchritudo (stem pulchritudin-) “pulchritude” + -ous.

The adjective form of which is pulchritudinous, meaning having physical beauty (or pulchritude)

or to phrase it another less courteous but more contemporary idiom, (and with sincere apologies both to the women concerned, their spouses and Ali G) "they is well-fit innit?" Laughing
