Wheel nuts

Is anybody aware of a stainless steel version of the standard C3 chrome wheel nuts? I am fed up with buying new sets every couple of years due to the chrome flaking off, and the wheel nuts rusting. I have been trying to find an equivalent over here but so far have drawn a blank.

Re: Wheel nuts

I had a set made up by a local machine co.They still look new after 17 years.

Try a visit to the smaller shops,I found them more helpful than the big boys on small jobs.

Best of luck with it.

Re: Wheel nuts

I have never seen stainless nuts.
The only way around that would be to get an engineering
company to do some copies of your own.
I dont know if the threads, chamfers etc are the same for all
years, if so you might get the price down if they do a job lot.(ahem Wink )
Going the whole hog you could get something (emblem?) machined
into the top Smile
Think it would be price dependant in the end.
Not sure if stainless would be a suitable material, cant
see why not.

Re: Wheel nuts

The co I used have since stopped trading, but I am still in contact with one of the owners if you are local to Northampton I can ask him if he knows any local machine co.

I have now fitted steel wheels so i am not using the nuts at the present time so if you want to see one of the nuts and washers and use it as a pattern for a machine shop near you i will send you one

Re: Wheel nuts

Cheers Eamon, may be worth a go. I work in an A1 Motor factors store and they can't get the size used on a Vette!
