Seat Auto Adjustment Setting - turn off!

Is it possible to turn this off!

basically everytime I start or stop the car and take out the key, the seats move down and away from the steering wheel when you exit , or when you get in they go back to the memory position...
lots of unecessary movement, which I know some day the the motors will pack in from over use!!
Smile
I'm the only driver, so it doesn't need to adjust for anyone else...
Toetap

thanks

Yes. You can do this by turning off the easy access seat option. You need to cycle through the options on the driver info centre controls to the right of the instrument cluster.

Do you need an owners manual mate? I have a PDF of the 2002 manual. No idea where I got that from. Might have been from a kind member on here?

Anyway. If you need one I can send you a copy.

Attached to an email and sent to your hotmail account. 3 Meg file.

Personally I prefer this option on as getting in and out of cars like this is getting tougher as I get older. Smile

Re: Seat Auto Adjustment Setting - turn off!

Don't worry. You have 3 systems moving the seat. When you put the key in the ignition the easy entry works and moves to a default position. If you opened the car with the fob and you have the memory option, it moves to the position set for the fob in use. If all else fails, the switches on the seat still move it to where you want it to be.

Easy Entry
The easy entry feature will only be available if the
vehicle is equipped with the memory option.
Press the OPTIONS button until SEAT EASY ENTRY
appears on the display, then use the RESET button to
page through the following choices:
 SEAT EASY ENTRY ON
 SEAT EASY ENTRY OFF
If you choose SEAT EASY ENTRY ON, when you
turn the ignition off and remove the key, the seat will
automatically move back and the telescopic steering
wheel (if equipped) will return to its full-forward
position for an easy exit or an easy entrance when
returning to the vehicle.
SEAT EASY ENTRY OFF turns off this option.

I have to admit that although I use it, it is not a lot of use in my case as I drive with my seat only one inch from fully back anyway.
But as wor lass says, an extra inch can be just enough. Very Happy
