Re: Steering

Check tyre pressures I have seen this on cars with low pressure

Re: Steering

I had this on my C4 years ago..

I drained (large syringe) the fluid from the reservoir, refilled with cheap ATF, worked it back and forth a bit, redrained, then refilled 100% with this stuff..

http://www.lucasoil.co.uk/products.php?page=products&subpage...

Its slightly thicker than normal, but operates smoothly, gives great feel and 30k miles later is still doing its job well.. Thumbs up

Re: Steering

Not thought of using a syring, sounds like a good idea.

Re: Steering

It saves any dismantling..

I used a 50ml catheter mount syringe not the usual luer-lock type as it has a larger port on the tip which makes it easier to suck up thicker fluids.. A bit of silicon tubing on the tip helps too.. Thumbs up

You'll need to dump it after use as the oil will swell the syringe's plunger piston and seize it after a time..

Re: Steering

I changed the fluid and still had the problem.
Just been to my friend who has a garage and he said that the belt is a bit shot, so looking for new belt.
In the meantime we cleaned off all the old belt slip spray fluid off the pullys as it was covered in it, also the air pump was stiff, so loosed that off as well and manipulated the tensioner. Took it for test drive and seemed a lot better.

Nice drive home Smile - unfortunately in the snow Sad

cheers
