C5 front lights

Firstly Hi, this is my first post on here!. On friday i swapped in my M3 convertible for a gorgeous C5 Lick
and i love the car to bits - the only thing that i see strange is that my car has two lights at the centre at the front and i dont see any other pics of any other cars with this - can i get a cover for these does anyone know - any help would be appreciated. Oh and heres my car!

Re: C5 front lights

Hiya!

Looks like you've got an American version, judging by the custom side lights which are mounted on the front bumper (on left & right side of your number plate).

The big lights in the middle are a pretty expensive addition...and I think most people will tell you to keep them there because the standard C5 headlights are rather shiezzer Very Happy

If you really dont like the look of those big lights, you might be able to take the 'clear cover' off and insert what was there before - a 'front license cover' which has 'corvette' written on it. You might want to borrow someone else for a try before you buy it cos it might not be a simple straight swap.

Very curious to know, though, how do you compare this vette with your M3?? Just asking since my brother has an M3 Cab SMGII back in LA...Good choice though Thumbs up

Re: C5 front lights

The two centre lights you have are aftermarket ones probably these ones:

http://www.breathlessperformance.com/products/255.asp

I assume they are wired in to either the dipped or main beam either way they should add a bit of light for those dark Scottish nights. The standard lights on the C5 not to put to fine a point on it are crap which is why people add lights or change the standard bulbs to aftermarket ones.

Nice car and welcome to the CCCUK website, get in touch with Grant Forsyth as I think he will be your local rep. Also it is worth joining the club as it will save you more than the £35 annual membership in just insurance alone as a number of companies give discounts to club members. Checkout the Members Benefits from the home page.

Thanks guys for your help - looks like i will just need to keep my extra lights i think!

.... i have joined the club thanks - and got a really good insurance deal partly as a result.

- and Des, yes - it is the car park at Gleniffer Braes i took the pics - thats not too far from my house and i didnt want to drive too far and get the car dirty for some pics but the light was rubbish and really doesnt do the car justice - going to get some better ones with my other car - an R32 4 door nissan skyline!

Re: C5 front lights

Oh my god, did I just pass this on the expressway/motorway that leads to eaglesham/east Kilbride???

I passed it at 70 and I was like, what the hell are those two lights???! So I googled corvette two lights and this red car was second on the images, I clicked and here I am... And here I am.

If it was your car, the lights are clearly über rare.
