If you look at Demon Tweaks, Burton Performance etc etc they usually offer a sensor that you place in the flexible top hose - to fit it you may need to cut the hose in half and re-connect with a short length of steel pipe and a pair of clamps.

Sun 29 Apr 12 21:24 Re: The rad a good place for a electric fan temp switch? surely you would want the stat on the inlet hose to the engine as the thermastat controls the water going into the rad, the rad then cools the water and returns it into the engine. so you only need the fans on when the water returning to the engine is to hot.
