TPMS Update

You may recall I was running a thread on Euro C5 TPMS replacement for my 2001, well I am glad to say finally got it sorted with help from Dee Gee and a few US vendors.
It turns out the Euro spec cars span different years than the US versions when it comes to TPMS sensors, unlike the US that seem to have early 97-00 and late 01-04 my Euro version only spans 00-01plus when they arrived they are the "newer" looking small sensors whereas those removed were the larger early type, but they work OK which is what matters.
So for anyone with a Euro 00-01 C5 the sensor number is 20807214 and they came in at around £41 each including shipping etc..
There is one difference in that original sensors did not read unless the car was running with wheels turning, but the new ones show a reading even when the car has been sitting turned off , any ideas? I think the C6 works in this way Scratchchin

I've always assumed there's a mercury switch (or something similar) in the transmitter which only switches it "on" when the wheel is turning, and that the use of large magnets when programming the system is to activate that same switch. Clueless in reality though!

Re: TPMS Update

Panic over, now I have used the car a couple of times, the TPMS readings are not showing after standing anymore so I guess it is just a peculiarity with new sensors, maybe the switch mechanism is a little stiff until used a few times.
