Sun 06 May 12 21:08 Passenger door lock. I can't seem to be able to unlock the passenger door, either with the button or key. Anybody had anything like this happen to theirs?

Mon 07 May 12 12:26 Re: Passenger door lock. Is the key and/or the button jammed or are they doing something, you may be able to hear it trying to throw the lever? If that may be working but the mechanism is jammed, pushing the door quite forcibly from the outside against the rubber while working the handle may free it up!

Mon 07 May 12 22:14 Re: Passenger door lock. Had this happen on my 82 where it had been stood for ages. There is a pivot point that diverts the vertical door lock rod to the horizontal rod that goes to the interior handle area. This rod operates the locking mech. The pivot point seizes with rust and you cant use the lock. I managed to free mine by repeatedly jiggling it as hard as I dare then dumped a can of WD into the door and never locked it again before my restoration started. When I started restoring the door I found this part was so siezed that I could only free it with a blow lamp.
