Thu 10 May 12 13:20 Re: HUD not so bright Hi Roppa, I had to re-solder the 8 resistors on my aircon printed circuit board (C5 2000 ) due to failing solder ( which GM's suppliers were forced to use on the change over to lead free solder !!.) Made the readout go fainter until it couldnt be read at all. fairly easy job for a numbnuts like me. Got step by step details from Corvette Forum in the US

Wed 16 May 12 18:53 Re: HUD not so bright If the projector is still pushing out its full "ergs" and the slider is fully up, the only other parameter which affects the level is the ambient light sensor. Is it blocked, dirty or covered?

Thu 17 May 12 08:30 Re: HUD not so bright I wasn't aware that it changed it's brightness in relation to ambient light? It never has since I bought it. I assumed that was what the dimmer slider was for.

Wed 23 May 12 00:10 Re: HUD not so bright Possibly not too helpful, but to make the observation that whilst my 140K miles C5 needs serious work behind the dashboard to get all the heating and aircon lights working again, my HUD continues on unabated. And that is with an expensive but much cheaper "ordinary" windscreen replacement for a very expensive "HUD" windscreen.
