No one ever tell you what a poo stirrer i am? Laughing

I have had my share of great cars but non of them have handled as well as an NSX. The C5 and C6 are the only Corvettes that come close.

Having said that, they started to spoil the NSX after it first came out. They were trying to cater for the American market. So they started loading them down with accessories and they never drove as well as those ealy ones that Ayrton Senna helped develop.

I have a 1970 Dodge Charger 440 sixpack at the moment that I am tuning for a friend. Now THAT car does not handle like a truck. It handles like a great white whale. Yes Laughing

Can't see any NSX on the list. Last time i drove the ring I noticed quite a few nasty bends too Laughing

I know that video well. Fact is Senna could drive anything fast

He had a lot of input on the car. Like I said. After the first ones came out they started spoiling it with power steering, air con, power seats, US spec bumpers etc etc. It was all downhill from there.

Just been out test driving the Charger. Surprised

Even Senna would have struggled to get this thing around corners fast. Not without a LOT of road. Laughing

Orange is a great color on C6 although not the most common. Atomic looks very good and there's also been another called Inferno. I don't think either of them appear in the 2012 color chart.

You'll enjoy a Vette!

The original orange on the C6 was Daytona Sunset Orange. This was replaced by Atomic Orange.

And what's this about the standard chassis 'unlikely to please'?

At something around 49lbs difference between the stock C6 Coupe and the Z06, (3179lbs vs 3130lbs) I reckon that as a combination, me and my car are lighter than some Z06's with their owners....

The extra grunt of the 7 litre engine would be nice though - even if unnecessary for me! And of course, you're on the mark about the brakes - but 20 brake pads on one car sounds excessive!

It all depends upon how you like your Corvettes..

Personally I like the simplicity and character of the older models. 'Trucklike' they may be to some, but there's something primeval about that, that sits well with me as opposed to the high tech models of today no matter how well (..very!!) they perform..

Used Z06 or well sorted, early C3 like this?

No contest! Cool

Those big Mopars rock! If you think they are big, try checking out one low down in your Corvettes rear view mirror in a traffic queue..
Surprised

I have many a time mate. All my mates are Mopar owners. For various reasons I just can't afford them any more.

Hey Boomin, nice NSX Thumbs up

You'll defo want a Z06, either a C5 or C6, i'd love a C5 Z06 in Electron Blue, haven't seen a Z in the UK in that colour, i was thinking of going to that States and bringing one back, one day.....

Check out this zed with a cam on the dyno, makes my balls tingle!

Thanks for the input.. yes. Z06 was on my mind. Not so hell bent on orange anymore. Going to look at colour options and will have to be a targa / or 2nd choice convertible.

just got back from a couple weeks in South Carolina. was surprised to see only one Vette the whole time I was there. It only looked a couple years old and the lines were incredible. beautiful car.

I know I'll be getting a whole different beast with a 'vette... but have a saying "so many cars, so little time" so a Z06 is next on my journey.

NSX's. I've driven a few and of different years. by far I thought the '02s onwards were superior. More top end, more grunt, (6 speed 3.2L) better breaks and slightly better looks. It drove like a modern car, where as the older ones felt like dated cars.

I tracked it a couple times and there was nothing in it between me and GT3s, Astons and well as a handfull of other 500bhp cars there on the day. The NSX comes in at 276 bhp. but is so light with such a good v'tec engine that.. once you got into the 5K -8K rev range.. well it transformed into something quite special, performing beyond it's specs.

Only reason I sold was that prices have been climbing the last couple years. Rather than losing the 30% - 60% I expected when I pulled the trigger. After 5 years.. I actually sold it for 20% more than I paid back in 2007.
An unbelievable feat in my mind, and too good an opportunity to pass up.

I'm away most of July. What is a good event to come to end of July or August? would be great to check the field in the flesh.

..at first glance, I'm drawn to the 2007 Z06. was planing on getting '07 - '09... but not sure my budget will stretch much further than an '07 Wink
