The Silverstone Classic 20th to 22nd July 2012

Calendar Event: 20 Jul 2012 - 22 Jul 2012

The Silverstone Classic 20th to 22nd July 2012

This event was a great success for us in 2011 thanks again to the efforts of Malcolm Webb who provided us with a great marquee for the whole event. Malcolm is taking is a year out from this event having done it for 2 years, but is nonetheless very generously offering the free use of his marquee agin so tremendous thanks to him .

The Silverstone Classic is a fantastic motoring event, and many who have been say it is superior to the Le Mans Classic

Family commitments may mean that I can't be there, but Paul and Helen Allen will be there all weekned to organise things and to attend to all your club merchandise needs

I am in the process of paying our fee to Goose Communicatons (the organisers) and sorting out the Health and Safety requirements Banghead so will soon have a CCCUK unique club discount code.

To avoid it being used my non-members, this code will be published in the MEMBERS ONLY Forum (with a link from this thread), in Vette News, and in an email sent to your Area Rep for distribution to you all

Re: The Silverstone Classic 20th to 22nd July 2012

I have had an email today from Silverstone reminding me that the lowest ticket price offer (Early Bird) finishes on 31st March and that the club display package offer, made up of two tickets and car infield display pass, ends completely on 31st May 2012

For the very best prices for this event you need to book before May 31st, and, so far, only a few have done so

The unique club 2-for-1 discount code can be found on this member's only thread

http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/viewtopic.php?p=88397#88397

and in the current issue of Vette News

Tickets and passes will start to be mailed out earlier than in previous years, during June, together with a site plan showing actual location othe CCCUK club display area.

Re: The Silverstone Classic 20th to 22nd July 2012

VERY VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Below is an email i received from Jane at Goose communications today. unfortunately the map mentioned was not attached but you should have a map with your tickets.

Due to the prevailing weather, I have moved the Corvette Club to a hardstanding location. You were originally in the Grey area but now you will be in L Blue zone 5T. I have attached a map to show you. Is there any way you can contact your club members and give them this information and ask them to collect a new car pass from the welcome centre when they arrive. This would be really helpful. Entry for the car clubs is through car park 49, so if they can park in the top right hand corner and walk across the road to the white Welcome centre marquee and say they are from the Corvette Club, they will be able to collect a L Blue 5T pass.

Many thanks

Had to cancel holiday, so now I can go to Silverstone after all; BUT I need a pass/tickets.
Has anyone got a spare CENTER PASS they don't now need ? (and 2 tickets too perhaps?)

Re: The Silverstone Classic 20th to 22nd July 2012

Thanks for the info guy's I am still waiting for the tickets but I will ring them tomorrow if they do not arrive in the post in the morning. Has everyone else got their tickets?

One other question if anyone knows. We are camping and based on the pics. from the F1 weekend I do not want to take the car into the campsite, is it ok to leave the car on the club stand at night or must it be moved off the stand?

Simon.
