Is that the idea behind your “digging”, Simon? It would be good to have the club history retained.

Great idea Sir Stephen... I think it would suit one of those retired Lifetime Member types .... Wink

Congratulations... Clap

Laughing Sounds like Keith already has the job! Very Happy Not that I'd be averse.... I'd think it would be quite intersting actually. (Wanna bring all those mags over?)

The US club we're "mixed up" with has a historian who periodically submits old pictures, reports etc...

Some great memories from this thread, I was there (I think I was on the committee at the time) and it is good to see some of the old faces and cars including Brian's Callaway. Keith, fantastic to see you are still involved, is Steve Palmer still around?

Hi Colin

I think you were at one of the Brands Hatch events years ago when we were allowed track laps? I seem to recall rushing up Druid's Hill rather fast and getting dangerously close to your car as we all slowed down! Surprised

I think you'll find some of the guys are still in touch with Steve P. I think he has a later car now?

For starters there is a black Callaway there. So is that yours Malcolm?

Bigear

If it was I didn't own it then, not until 2001 or 2002 I think.

I may have gone to the Nats in 91 though as I went even before I bought my first vette, an 84, in the late 90's...

Malc

Edit: just noticed I replied before! Maybe I didn't go as the first few nats I went to were always at Knebworth...

Hi Stephen, yes I remember you and the day at Brands Hatch. We had quite a good turnout that day, I don't know if you remember but the club had been contacted by a woman whose husband had terminal cancer, he had always loved Corvettes but had never had the chance to own one. As a surprise I picked him up at his house in my 'vette with a few other members and we drove there in convoy where we met up with you and other guys from the Kent area. And yes, I do remember you filling my rear view mirror! If my memory serves me you had a red C3?

Yes, still got the "old red '78"! I recall the convoy meet up, but I confess I'd forgotten the details. Things don’t change much, as club members are still doing things like that for Corvette admirers! Come to think of it, the present Kent guys are once again going to Brands fairly regularly.

No doubt Keith can put you in touch with Steve and Colin Shepherd…. Are you now “Vette-less”, or are you thinking of rejoining the fold?
