Chris Evans' "Car Fest" August bank holiday

Calendar Event: 25 Aug 2012 - 26 Aug 2012

Has anyo e else been listening to Radio 2s Chris Evans show on a morning ?
He has organised a big event at Jody Scheckters house on August bank holiday.
He has car clubs going, Ferrari etc. and bands on ( Texas etc ) and loads of other stuff.
Would we be able to get a club invite ? Read - High profile for the club.
Is anyone wanting to go ?
Also there is a RWYB hillclimb on all day as well.
Tickets go on sale in April if you can get 'em,
and it's all for a good cause.

Dave

is this a bit like your mates organising a BBQ and drinks session at your house "cos you have a bigger garden"?

I did hear a little but as I'm only in the car for 15 mins I didn't get the whole story, sounds good though. As we're away for a few weeks the following weekend I think that will rule us out

Yes..Well I've sort of already been 'on it' already but didn't get any more info on who's in or who's out. I've posted on Evans blog and tweeted him (as have a lot of other clubs), but all I can gather is that further details are not availible yet and I don't listen to Radio 2 Skep...(Is that the one with the pan-pipes? Very Happy )

So, depending on the small print I'd be up for it.. My fear is, he's creating a monster... Willy

Re: Chris Evans' "Car Fest" August bank holiday

Jody's place is between Whitchurch and Overton two villages near Basingstoke in Hampshire, he's got some of his old F1 cars at his place and plenty of land to put on a show.

It looks like Evans might have just stolen an existing event called the Kop Hill Climb;

CHRIS Evans was among the thousands of people who paid a visit to the Kop Hill Climb in Princes Risborough at the weekend.

The Radio 2 presenter turned up unannounced to the race and the renowned petrolhead had a go at the race to the top of the hill in one of his vintage cars.

The star wasn’t able to hang around for too long however, as scores of drivers lined up to tackle the famous climb.

Organiser Peter Lewis said: “He told his wife he was just going out to get petrol. He brought his son and ended up here, did the climb then said ‘I’ve got to go now’. He had a good walk around and enjoyed it.”

I thought that the annual Kop Hill climb is later in year? - Chris Evans turned up at last years event!
