Water pump leak.

Hi, first day of c3 ownership, first mechanical failure! Parked the car in the garage, and it weed on the floor, looks to be coming from the pump, possibly back plate. Iím going to remove it and have a look. Whereís best for gaskets in the U.K.?

Cheers, tim.

Re: Water pump leak.

Try Corvette kingdom, Eurovettes or Claremont Corvette. You can also use Rock Auto, I have had quite a few parts for both my C3 and C4s, things like brakem pads, seals, drive belts etc etc
just Google any of these and you'll find their websites and details

Hi, the pumps relatively new, but itís not been used much since the engine was built, only 360 miles on it, so Iím hoping itíll just be an iffy gasket. Iíll hopefully know more once itís off.

Cheers Tony, Just removed the faulty actuator, and tested the other one, seems ok, but as Iím at it Iíll change them both. I removed the bonnet for better access. Iíll test the other bits in the system before I order anything.
Itís been quite fun sad to say. Smile

Are you using 50/50 antifreeze? had the same happen on a volvo generator after some numpty diluted ready mixed coolant, failed after only about 4 months running, cavitation in the pump with the incorrect coolant.
