Winner of many prizes at the Corvette Nationals and other shows including Best C5
Featured in the May 2015 issue of American Classic by Paul Bussey
Original work done at Dart Corvette and Mechspray to achieve the final look
Original build thread http://old.corvetteclub.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=12637
Since then maintained by Mechspray and Top Cat Racing
Paintwork was a professionally completed at Mechspray, at which time the hidden chassis parts were also treated and painted.
Standard LS1 engine
MGW short shifter with an aluminum orange anodised knob
BillyBoat Bullet Stainless Steel 4” cat back exhaust system (No it doesn’t drone J )
Wilwood Superlite front brakes with good pads and discs all round
Venair Orange silicon hoses and Evans waterless coolant
K&N Air Filter
Stainless door catches and illuminated sills
Most C5's have these and mine is no exception: Steering column bypass module fitted as is the gear shift device to let you shift from 1st to 2nd
Brand new yellow top battery (C5's hate old or weak batteries)
Two keys and two fobs
Oil and filter changes yearly along with all other maintenance work being completed when needed
Last major work done by Topcats was to rebuild gearbox and resolve reverse gear pop out along with new clutch and the differential was rebuild. Also fixed leaking drive shaft seals. Cost around 6k between parts and labour.
All done because I want to have the car in the best possible condition and these types of things would normally be something that you’d end up inheriting as an unsuspecting buyer! Everything that has needed doing, I have had done as soon as I knew about it.
It’s due for MOT in a couple of weeks (31st August). I will be at Topcats having the oil changed and the handbrake shoes / parts replaced along with the fuel filter, as I thought it was time they were done. Come see me!!
Countless receipts covering the full history going back many many years.
Very very reluctant sale but I’m just not using it. The current mileage is 68869 and in the last few years I’ve done very low miles. Which will mostly have been to Mechspray, Topcats or the Nationals
2016-17 - 1469 miles
2017-18 - 1345 miles
2018-19 - 1243 miles
2019-20 - 278 miles
To get a car to this standard would set you back a lot of money, though of course you would get the joy (and some stress) of doing it yourself. However this one is for sale at £18.5k for what has to be one of the best looked after C5’s in the country. If you are looking to maintain a legacy and have the inclination to cherish this car, (and you like Orange) then it is for you.
Private plate is not include as it’s my initials.

Forgot to add that the Ignition switch has also recently been replaced. The aircon was re-gassed and some seals replaced and it now works well. When I had the initial work done the headers were removed and ceramic coated and the alternator was refurbished. The brake lines were also completely replaced.

Thanks Norm, and believe me it’s killing me to be selling it!! However it needs to see more of the sunlight and be used. If I had a double garage I’d keep it. Someone is going to get a genuine and beautiful car.
