1988 - 1996 Parking brake issues - fixed at last

I have been chasing issues with the Parking brake on my 1989 Corvette for years, and on occasions I have managed to get it through it MOT, Just.
So I have today at long last discovered the issue, and apart from the levers on the rear calipers being a bit sticky and needing eased and greased, the ultimate fault has now shown up.
The Front cable from the handle, although free moving, the outer sheath had failed internally allowing it to compress slightly when applied therefore not getting sufficient tension on the rear calipers to get it to hold.
So if any of you other lucky people have an 88 - 96 C4 Corvette, and you are having issues with the parking brake, have a look for bulges in the front cable when the brake is applied.
Also, if you looking at working on the parking brake at all, or replacing the LH or RH rear cables, I can recommend purchasing this tool, Kent-Moore J-34065 GM Parking Brake Cable Release Tool as it made releasing the tangs on the cables so much easier.
