C1 steering + Braking upgrades

I'm considering a C1 purchase and would appreciate any information on an all round disc brake conversion (with Servo) and also a rack an pinion steering upgrade
Where can these be purchased and costs and also any suggestions for a reputable specialist to fit them
Thanks, Nick

Have you driven one? That’d be my first point of call.

I can see little reason for either mod. Drums with modern pad compounds and fluids can be made fade free and don’t require the pedal pressure needed for discs. A steering box in good nick is not a bad thing. Often people’s experience of boxes is old knackered ones.

Speak to Scott at Corvette Kingdom for advice.

Sorry to be so late to this. I used a Flaming River rack and pinion set-up with an electric power steering module (i can dig out the details when I get home from hols) which fits under the dash and is also adjustable, Having driven C1s with steering boxes, I can testify to a much more precise steering experience. For brakes I used basically a C4 set-up with 13inch discs on the front and 12inch on the rear plus an electric servo because my modded engine has very low vacuum. This also gives you a 5 link rear suspension if you want it. Much sharper than discs and good in the wet. Happy to provide more details or chat. Matt at CCMvettes is good to talk to and advertises in the back of the maganzine. He was the mechanical lead at Claremont Corvette before it closed down. Of course it won't be original but that wasn't my objective.
