Having done some reading it would seem that there are some gears that will only work with torque lock style sliders. They have a back cut on the dog teeth, I can’t see it in mine but maybe it’s only slight. So torque lock sliders going in. New clutch and midplate are here now.
Hurst shifter redone with a rebuild kit and a weaker spring I found. Will try it out when the box is back together, does seem much smoother across the gate.

Old pilot bearing out which took some effort
Gearbox back together, waiting to put the side cover on after I’ve welded and filed the shift levers to be a perfect fit on the keyed shaft.
1st time I’ve had the engine out, mainly because the bellhousing bolt rounded off. I’ve got some ARP ones for £30. Worth it if it saves an engine out. I want to make a cradle to make gearbox removal easier.
