C3 Winter Works

As the Vette is now in the garage for the next few months I’ve decided to start doing a few bits that annoy me.
I have taken the rear wheel bucket off had the bracket blasted and painted. Removed rear bumper to clean up the rear end and chassis that I can get to. The rear lights have been massacred so will probably replace them. New antenna as the aftermarket one is a bit naff. I also intend to remove dash to refit new tachometer and bezel refurbishment. Will post as things progress.

Lol I do like my car cleaning products. My wife always says it’s a shame I don’t have the same enthusiasm when it comes to cleaning the house.
I thought was what wives were for ! By the way , I think it`s the Autoglym skin balm that`s missing . 🤣

Did you know the bumper would come off without damaging the paint?
I shone a light under and there were only 2 spots about half an inch long that looked like they were attached. I got an old fishing wire trace (thin) and gently worked it through came off very clean

Clever use of a fishing trace , I must remember that one as got dozens of them in different gauges . (y)

A few more bits off. The alarm has now gone as this was never live anyway. Antenna out and mounting plate needing to be cleaned up. Fuel lines looking a bit sad so I’ll swap them for some new ones as I’m told they can be swapped out without removing the tank.

Those fuel lines definitely look like they need to go, is the front end the same?
Front end is all good. Tank will have to come out though as the fuel sender is rusty as hell and i cant get to the fuel lines. what started off as a bit of a tidy up has as usual escalated 😩. Oh well i have the winter to sort it out

Think those fuel lines have already had some work as the clips are not original. At least when you get the tank off you can give it a good clean and spray with the original colour. Looks much better even if you only see it occasionally!

A little further with the goodies. Period correct aerial fitted and looking good. I went for the earlier spec lights with the chrome rings. Quite a bit of fettling needed to convert the holders to fit nicely as the lugs are different length13295C24-119C-44A1-84DB-E260EA72D17C.jpeg5AD44E51-25D1-41D9-8CFE-D4DBDDDEC7D3.jpegD6280A15-F6B3-4633-9280-FB4D4BA82096.jpegB33C1D7F-4C19-4E99-9234-4443A0E97D92.jpeg but got there in the end. Next job is drop the tank change out rusty fuel sender unit and new fuel hoses
