Hi All, Im looking to buy a C5 Corvette, Ive been to a few viewings and ive found a good one for the money, but i need advice for two things regarding the car. When the wheel is turned there is a rattling sound coming from the front (maybe the passanger side). Im not sure if its a wheel bearing or if it is anything else. If you have any suggestions all are welcome. The check engine light was also showing on the control panel and i asked about it and apparently its an exhaust emission censor according to their car diagnostic tool. The seller said that the engine light goes away after the engines heated up, does anyone know what the problem could be and if its hard to fix? I also wanted to ask if anyone knows a good corvette maintaince specialist near to Rugby, Warwickshire? Here is the link to the car, any and all suggestions are welcome as im new to the Corvette scene.

Firstly a C5 is a great choice.
The car is a US model rather than a Euro, not a big deal but I prefer the rear license plate & reversing lights & lack of the rear fogs in the bumper, but that's just me. Re the rattling on the front when the wheel is turned is not normal, you could ask the seller to fix it prior to purchase. There are 4 sensors on the exhaust, easily obtainable & easy to replace, but again you could ask the seller to sort prior to purchase, or use it as a bargaining tool to get the price down. The mileage is very good as is the history file.
Hope this helps.

Firstly, you can check the error codes yourself via the dirvers information centre (dic) and find out how serious the fault is and how to fix it.

Check Engine Light is an automatic MoT fail so this should be fixed before you buy.

Make sure you see the HPI and Carfax checks.

As with any purchase - Caveat Emptor.
