Hello all, I am new here and after lots of reading and research I have now set out on my search . I have seen 4 corvettes so far but all need work in different areas, which I do not care for ,so I am prepared to pay more for a better car ,I'm not to fussed what year but it must be correct and a C3 , I would prefer to buy from someone who knows corvettes not just a dealer or so that may just have one in for a quick flip
Recommended dealers or private seller welcome, recommendations, referals or warnings welcome.

Welcome Rogueone and good luck with your search to fulfil the dream . You are already on the right track being wary of `quick flip ` dealers . There are far too many of them about and and the list of people being caught out ain`t particularly short . I was one of them

Its daunting but exciting too. i looked at 4 before buying mine(only a month ago). its difficult as my budget was 15k max, i wanted manual and i wanted the flat back window. i got an l82 manual '75 which i bought privately, its a genuine car and its rot free but 15k doesn't buy something with no work, i may have overpaid by a grand or so but its what i wanted. its easy to be critical of certain things on these cars(i was) but unless you buy a fully restored car which you'll pay a lot more for you have to bear in mind it will be 40+ years old.good luck with your search

Hi all, I'm also after a c3. Don't care about a numbers matching car. Just want a good runner with no rust. Don't mind an auto. How cheap can I get a good one for?

Problem you currently have is that a few admittedly good mid/late 70's C3's have been seen advertised for mid-high £teens on Ebay and other places. Some have sold - others possibly not. Unfortunately much like what has happened with the Escort/Cortina scene 'chancers' try to achieve the enhanced figures being asked for some vehicles. Being realistic you'll be lucky to see any cheap Vette's on here - A month or so ago I advertised an incredibly reasonably priced 25 year owned '74 that had been garaged stored by an ex-member for £8.5K. It ran, stopped and only needed an interior and a deep clean to make it a tidy car. How many calls on it? - none!
It did sell after a couple of days on FB's Corvettes for sale UK.
