Power steering control valve

Evening all, I have recently noticed a leak from the power steering....initially ordered the wrong part and then bought the rebuild kit for the control valve. When I took it apart the inside looks quite worn but thought I would give it a go anyway....A short run later and it has not worked so will need a new part.

Does anyone have either a new one lurking somewhere which you don't need or a decent used one?

The car is an '81 C3.

I'll see if I can attach a photo.......

The slightly rusty looking shot is before and the cleaner one after

Some use a specific brand of power steering fluid (can't recall which) which is thicker and supposed to minimise leaks.......could do with some myself!

I had the opposite result. I put a repair kit in with the valve on the car when I first got it as it had a slight weep. 20 years later I decided to change all the parts on the steering hydraulics. The rebuilt valve leaked the total contents of the system onto the garage floor over night. I got it replaced and the replacement was still good when I sold the car. There are obviously rebuilds and rebuilds that work.
