A fellow classic car fan I know has kindly given me a book today he forgotten he had after a big loft clear out . It`s ` A Piece Of The Action - CORVETTE - Impressions Of The Marque And The Mystique - 1953 to 1978 by the Editors of Automobile Quarterly Magazine with William L Mitchell and Allan Girdler in the US .
It`s a hefty tome with heavy quality gloss paper and lots of fabulous contemporary photos and interviews with Bill Mitchell . It was published in 1977 and had a cover price of $38.95 . Apart from a slightly dog eared dust cover on one edge it is mint condition . Great photos of standard cars , customized cars , race cars and drag cars . Gonna enjoy this over the next few evenings with a glass or two of Scotch .
