A C7 Corvette driver was responsible for a crash involving a tractor-trailer on a Pasadena, California freeway Sunday night.
California Highway Patrol says the Corvette convertible was illegally seen passing and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the wreck that left a big rig resting on its side, blocking all but the HOV lane of the westbound 134 Freeway just west of San Rafael Avenue overnight.
No word on the condition of the Corvette driver, but their black convertible definitely suffered extensive damage to the entire passenger side as well as the top in the video taken as it was being towed from the scene aboard a rollback.
Meanwhile, two occupants in the tractor-trailer had to be taken to a local hospital, where their conditions are unknown, after they had to be extricated from the cab by rescue personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday and forced the issuance of a SigAlert (a system that offers real-time traffic information about incidents that affect traffic). All lanes were finally open again by 6 a.m. Monday.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
