Windscreen wipers issue

Hi, first issue on the Corvette C5 1999 with the windscreen wipers not switching off

The fuse is currently pulled out for driving , however they did work on the wash wipe by pressing the button

We've dismantled the stalk and cleaned all contacts inside but still same issue

The motor is working, 2 speeds and as stated on wash wipe

Is this a case of fitting a new stalk ?

I think those contacts need to be looked at closely for arms of contacts slightly bent or contacts burnt and need better cleaning
and check the CAM and to assure no broken teeth on mating gear and slight amount of light grease on gear

Also check the switch contacts on front black housing and any pins as being clean and good contacts

If having the C5 wiring schematics, you could use an OHM meter and check each function of the stalk to the pins of the wiring connector to each contact

Thanks, internals are different for our stalk, noted for burns and bends

Ok, so disconnected the motor and checked the udders, dry and not blocked

Opened up module as that is the issue after unclipping wiper stalk connector the wipers still continued

Will order a new / used module and fit hopefully fixing the issue
