All Corvettes are Not Red :-)

A report from automotive supplier Axalta (formerly known as DuPont) points out that in 2022 boring white remained the most popular color in North America for the 16th year in a row, with gray and black in the runner-up positions, the same as they have been for the past 25 years.

However, blue did manage to climb into the fourth spot for the second straight year. Blue was also fourth back in 2008

Femabitch, Jennifer Widrick, director of Global Color, Material, and Finish at General Motors

Chevy’s diverse lineup and customer base allow Widrick and her team to push the limits of exterior color options.

Right now, Widrick says, low-gloss and solids are popular, while effect pigments rich, highly chromatic, complex colors like blues, greens, oranges, and reds are having a moment as well.

“Chroma [bright, vibrant color] is on the rise, and people want those opportunities where instead of a black you might opt for a blue,” she says.
“Certainly red indicates sport, and we’ve seen a lot of feminist lighter colors come into play, so the market is quite open, and that’s what is exciting about Chevrolet.”

One growing trend is a pop of color on the roof to contrast with a more solid, neutral-colored vehicle body, or vice versa.

“The Trailblazer is an excellent example of how the available two-tone roof opens up the flexibility to really have a lot of bold color,” Widrick says

I've owned four Corvettes over the years. None were bought new, by me, and so I didn't choose the colours. One was green and the other three were blue.

Being a Manchester City supporter I tend to avoid anything red apart from ketchup on my fish finger sammich but strangely I've owned five red Corvettes and still have one

Some wiseguy wrote this book late 1990s called "All Corvettes are Red" and from then on people thought they had to have a red one
Problem is to me most GM reds were flat and had an orange tint to them, I did not like
Can still buy this book

Wouldn`t have anything to do with a song by a certain diminutive singer with pretentions of royal lineage would it ?
Here's a question. How about naming some songs whose lyrics mention Corvettes in a colour other than red? The only one that springs to my mind was from Italian one-hit-wonders Eiffel 65,
I have a girlfriend and she is so blue
Blue are the people here that walk around
Blue like my Corvette, it's in and outside
Blue are the words I say and what I think

Most popular corvette colours by generation are

C1 Ermine white
C2 Nassau Blue. ( introduced in 1965, and was considered a very outrageous colour at the time.
C3 Classic White
C4 Yep it’s Bright Red
C5 once again it Tourch Red
C6 Black
C7 Artic White

The C8 isn’t finished as a generation yet, but Red is once again leading the pack.5E2FD52B-F4FD-4D76-AA0C-EB9B112FC199.jpegD20C4712-047F-473C-B272-9294A5370EFD.jpegF33DB807-5010-46F6-9393-7ACEC0CEB9B3.jpegE3A66523-0567-45DA-B095-3C867658543B.jpeg2ED9225A-56E4-4ED1-AD8B-EF6038A5B093.jpeg0CDF57B6-5365-4669-964F-9555C85FCB0D.jpeg872EAF4F-B30D-4F6F-8D34-0EA39BF7BEC0.jpeg

How about a pink one......
That's "most excellent". Never heard it before!
"From a Sufi in a Rickshaw to a bimbo in a pink Corvette". Pure poetry.

Natalie Cole may have had a Pink Cadillac but Aerosmith have upped the GM ante.
Get A Grip album now ordered. :)
