Have never heard of KWS - and yes, he is good, very good.Like so many I never saw the great man live , but also look up Kenny Wayne Shepherd on Youtube playing Voodoo Child . I have several of his albums and he often includes a track as homage to Jimi Hendrix . KWS is a fantastic blues / rock guitarist IMO .
Wow that's a nice tune to cruise to.If you're going to BOSTON in an overheating old Corvette you'll need a slice of this,
Did I remember to say PLAY LOUD?
He goes way back before the commercialised 80`s stuff like Footloose . Back in the late 60`s and early 70`s when country rock was the new big thing he was in the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and then with Loggins & Messina . Bob Harris who hosted the `Old Grey Whistle Test ` on TV was into them in a big way . The Old Grey Whistle Test was essential late night viewing for those of us of that long haired hippy era as it only featured underground and prog rock bands . No hit music pulp allowed and usually enjoyed at somebodies `Crash Pad` with a few beers and joint or too .I've been listening to kenny loggins recently. Such good 80s tune! Don't like his slow songs though.
Wow he definitely worked hard for his success. He goes way back before the commercialised 80`s stuff like Footloose . OMG ! so naff and old hat ! I went to a brilliant gig last night at the famed Stables venue in Wavenden , Bucks to see Del Bromham and his band Stray playing their own brand of prog rock and heavy rock . They have been going since 1966 and guitarists Del Bromham and Peter Dyer are both septegenarians and can still rip it up and show the younger generation a trick or too . I first saw them live in 1970 and many times since . They played many of their classics as well as later stuff , 15 / 20 minute live versions of Percy the Pimp and Jericho were mind blowing ! Rock n Roll .
