A yellow C6 Corvette coupe careening into a Christmas scene set up outside a New Jersey home on Friday afternoon
The car allegedly ran a stop sign, pushing the Corvette into the front porch of a home on East Second Street in Plainfield
striking the porch railing and crushing a Christmas scene set up outside.
The Corvette wound up propped against the porch at a 45-degree angle, breaking one of the lines from the gas meter in the process.
“It sounded like a truck crashed or something,” said the home’s resident, named Killep, who provided TAPinto Plainfield with photos of the scene.
“I went to the window, but I couldn’t see anything.”
Once outside, however, the resident did capture a photo that shows a reindeer decoration lying on its side, apparently knocked over by the Corvette, with a piece of its front bumper lying next to it, but fortunately no serious injuries were reported to the drivers or the occupants of the home.
The accident happened about 3:20 p.m. and prompted a response from the Plainfield Police and Fire and the gas company. PSE&G switched off the gas temporarily to allow repairs to the gas line.
