previously I had a 3rd Gen trans am, 1986 5.0 TPI with no problems . Ive read a couple of reports against the TPI on Vettes, any opinions or things to look out for?
now I have a 1987 5.7 TPI.

Nothing wrong with a TPI C4, very good engine with lots of low down torque.
Not sure what you have read that's negative. 87 is a great car (I have an 86)
The fuel and brake lines can suffer from rust as they are under the chassis rails just below the sills.
Very easy cars to work on any issues just ask.

I think the TPI is a great motor - We've got a ZR1 and a 90 TPI... Both 6 speed manuals. In my opinion the 90 TPI sounds better and has lots of bubbly low down torque so is great fun to drive, arguably more so than the ZR1 in some ways. They're an easy engine to service and work on as well (and they don't have optispark which saves a few headaches compared to the LT1)... Incidentally it will be for sale soon if you're in the market!
