Chris Sale RIP

Further to Stuart's note above, Chris' daughters Chloe & Alexa have confirmed the time and place for Chris' memorial.

It will take place at 11:00am on 27th November, at St James' Church, Manor Meadow, Cardington, Church Stretton, Shropshire SY6 7JZ.

Chloe and Alexa were not really connected to Chris' "car scene", so do know not many of his friends and associates from that side of his life, but are are hoping that the information can be broadcast as they don't want anyone who would like to participate to miss out.

I've known Chris for appropriately 24 years as we first met at Le Mans in 2001. A lovely guy and he was always a pleasure to chat with. The picture is from the Nationals at Huntingdon.

Those knock off wheels are now on my silver 65 and all restored as Chris went with some American Racing Torq Thrusts. And that looks like my Nassau Nightmare in the background on the RHS as Richard named it.

I know that this memorial service for Chris is mostly aimed at members in the north west region but Chris being in the hobby and club as long as he was had friends all over the country so I'll post the information I received from one of his daughters - Chloe as they are very keen to get the message to as many of Chris's friends as possible. They have very little knowledge of his Corvette life so it would be nice to surprise them with a bumper turnout. Message from Chloe in the next post.

Dear all,

As some of you may know, we are planning a memorial service for Dad/Chris on Thursday the 27th November at 11am at St James Church in Cardington Shropshire, followed by drinks and a light lunch at the village hall right next door.

We would love you to join us if possible, and please pass this email on to anyone who you think might also like to come along, as we do not have a comprehensive list of contacts for everyone he knew. We would also be very grateful for an RSVP so that we can plan for catering.

There is parking available at the village hall for about 20 cars, and other on-street parking in the village, but the church itself does not have a car park.
