Rear light orientation..help!

While giving the car a wash I noticed that my tail lights have manufacturers marks and L & R stamped on them. At some point a previous owner /bodyshop has taken them off and I think muddled them up. I have an L & R on each side ( so left side has L on far left and an R next to it) on the other side it is in the reverse of that...so my question is should I have L & L on the left side and R & R on the right side or is it an L& R on each side but my right sides are muddled up? Probably doesn't make a blind bit of difference but I like things to be done correctly! Lol...eventually I'd like to swap for infinity tail lights but for now just factory in the right places will do! Thanks in advance all

Sunlight prevents getting good photos
but for my 1999 C5 the lens like on left side both have L on them and R for the 2 on the right
So yours are positioned wrong
Not sure but I think as you see on backside all those little square shapes and think they are like that to angle the
light in a set direction of angle
So I suggest you pair them correctly for each side and good time to clean backsides and the housing along with bulbs

@teamzr1 thanks so much. I suspected it was wrong on at least one side! Now I know it's both of 'em...a job for next weekend! Thanks for the help as ever.

You're Welcome

A bit better photo as Texas sun is a killer, even in late time of year :(
Be interesting to know when you look at the backside of lens if those small squares are angled
