Battery choice for 1987 c4.

Any recommendations for a good top terminal battery? I've been through two redtop Optimas now. How important is the CCA figure?

My optima was on a trickle charge in a garage for months, always fine, nicely topped up, nice green light on the ctek charger. Then one day i walked into the garage and the charger had a red light, the manual saying the battery can't keep it's charge.

Are the type 075 540CCa batteries on Tayna worth the money? pretty reasonably priced for Enduroline/Exide/Yuasa/Varta examples.

I have seen a 640CCA 075 type Yuasa (Yuasa HSB075 Silver 12V Car Battery 5 Year Guarantee | Halfords UK) that would fit.

I put a Yuasa YBX3780 top post in my 86 last year. It has 740CCA and starts the car really well, it's a tight fit, got it from Tanya.
Halfords are good if you have a trade card or know someone who does as the battery you mentioned is only £83.

My mistake it is a side post . I converted it back to side post from top post so I could fit the biggest battery possible.
