Bellhousing Cover Plate

Anyone able to tell me or got a photo of how the tabs on the lower bellhousing cover work? Do they clip round the sump?

Maybe they just don’t do anything, they don’t really seem to be in the right place to do much could explain why I couldn’t work it out both on my stock engine or the race one.

If there’s nothing on your stick one I’ll not worry.

The two bottom bolts don’t clear the sump though, hmm, not keen on running with an open clutch. Is there any reason you’d want to take the plate off?

I had trouble getting the cover to fit. The tab sits over the sump lip fine on drivers side but I had to cut away a chunk to get it to fit properly on the starter side. My mini starter sits almost flush to the rear of the block so there’s barely room for the cover plate to fit. I initially managed to get it in place but it was being distorted and rubbing on the crank so out came the tin snips.
