Best Tyres

Hi All
I recently imported a 57 C1. The tyres that are on it are old and cracked and I need to get them replaced. Does anyone have any recommendations as to the best tyre to fit? I am not bothered about whitewalls.
Thank you in advance
Ben

Hi Ben - welcome to the forum.......can't help re. the selection of suitable tyres for your Vette other than saying many of our members use North Hants Tyres (who I believe also give a discount to CCCUK members). In terms of tyre 'types' (and prices will range from below £100 to nearly £300) - OEM equipment I'm guessing would have been cross-ply or bias-belted. Later radial-tyres will probably be less expensive and perhaps grip a bit better but might be noiser. I'm sure someone will reply with specific experience.

Welcome Ben and nice Corvette, congrats. Speciality tyres can sit in storage for some time so I always ask for the date of manufacture (DOT) before purchasing having received a new set of 4 that were three years old in the past.

As Ross mentions, NHT do give a club discount and should have something suitable.

I have used NHT a couple of times and very pleased with them ( not for a C1 though ) . If they cannot help then try Longstones Tyres as they are classic specialists too . Love the car by the way . (y)

A 1957 corvette has to have wide whitewall tires IMO, but unfortunately your looking at probably £1200-1500 a set.

Coker Tires has been making vehicle tires for many decades and builds back to1899

Enter your 57 info at the top, and it will show you all those whitewall tires, but not cheap
