Such a rare car will always command a high price, but £2.5 million for a corvette is in my opinion ridiculous.

Especially one with questionable history.. Most think it was ordered as an L88 and the ZL block added later but some people have money to burn so hey ho.

I looked at a Corvette in the same colour at Clairemont but an L89 way back but couldn't step up to the 90k ask. Bugger

I was surprised the UK ZR2 didn’t make more at the auction. It just about made its lower estimate. Considering how rare it was, I would have thought at least $250k especially as it had pretty good provenance.

It had some body issues. Bumped in the nose and a poor repair done and the DIY air scoops will have to be removed and corrections done. But I agree that I thought it would fetch a better number too
