Sorry I’m a bit late to the party here but not much I can add that hasn’t already been mentioned. Other good sources of information are the various ZR-1 Facebook groups and the forum over at www.zr1netregistry.com/
You can also email Mark Haibeck via his website www.zr1specialist.com/

Hope it’s an easy fix and you get it sorted.

Hi Simon, thanks for getting in touch, who would you recommend to work on the ZR1 engine in the UK for anything above normal service routine work ?? I could trailer the car anywhere in the UK ?? Many thanks Greg

Hi Greg,
I’ve only used Topcats for some service work but Warren said they would tackle anything which I don’t doubt as they do some varied stuff (as well run their race cars) and their facility is top notch.

The LT5 can rattle on start up as the chain tensioners need oil pressure and also as mentioned rough running can cause the flywheel to knock.

and apparently the ethanol is increasing in fuel to 10% this Aug/sept
For future reference Esso Supreme Super Unleaded is Ethanol free in 90% of the UK
Speaking to club member Ade in Notts yesterday. He is telling me that increase to 10% is for "normal/regular" unleaded/Ethanol content in Super Unleaded stays the same at 5% (Unless its Esso obviously).

Hi Guys,
Just thought I would keep in touch to let you know my progress.
As recommended by Marc Haibeck at ZR1 Specialist and advice from Keith at Eurovettes I now have ordered New injector/ seals etc etc through Eurovettes. Hopefully parts land as expected in the next couple of weeks and fingers crossed solves the problem.

Hi Guys,
Thought I would let everyone know how I got on with the ZR1, All the injectors replaced with New Injectors and seals, fuel filter etc, The ZR1 is running smoothly again.
Many thanks to everyone for your help/support, My thanks to Duster who pointed me in the right direction with the Injector fault. Also many thanks to Keith at Eurovettes for sourcing the parts for me and Alistair/Stuart at Advanced Automotive Systems in the North East of England who did a superb job on replacing all the injectors etc.
Cheers Greg 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

As Rosco said "Esso Supreme Super Unleaded is Ethanol free in 90% of the UK"
Only use Esso all other brands of Super Unleaded are with Ethanol
Ethanol will affect your performance, not only mpg (which is not always a concern) but if you are running electronics it will suss the mix and then lean out and then adjust the timing etc - it also degrades the rubber fuel components - may be a good time to change any rubberised fuel lines
