Car and Driver magazine’s 10Best is one of the longest-running, most prestigious awards in the automotive industry. Every year, Car and Driver editors name their 10 favorite vehicles on sale that year in both the "Cars" and "Trucks and SUVs" category, determined by weeks of rigorous testing.

This year, several GM vehicles have been named among the best.

On the 10Best Cars list, the 2026 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, and 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and E-Ray all make repeat appearances. For 10Best Trucks and SUVs, the 2026 Chevrolet Trax also keeps its place on the list, while the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and 2026 GMC Yukon/Yukon XL join in on the honors.

“Our annual 10Best list is the ultimate guide for shoppers and the ultimate achievement for the industry,” says Car and Driver Editor-in-Chief Tony Quiroga. “For more than 40 years, only 10Best has recognized not just the best of what’s new but the best of what’s available in the new-vehicle marketplace.”

The Chevrolet Corvette has been a fixture on the 10Best Cars list, earning 27 wins across the 43-year history of the award. This year marks the 10th appearance in a row for a Corvette model. For 2026, Car and Driver editors honored both the Stingray and the performance hybrid E-Ray.

Since their first appearance in 2022, both the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing have remained on the 10Best Cars list. Car and Driver editors praised the Cadillac performance sedans for their blend of track-ready capability paired with luxury you’d expect from a Cadillac.

Redesigned for the 2024 model year, the Chevrolet Trax, which starts at an MSRP of $21,900, won favor with Car and Driver staff for its affordability, practicality and refinement. It first made the 2024 10Best SUVs and Trucks list, and it continues to defend its honor among the competition this year.

GM’s significantly updated full-size SUVs impressed Car and Driver editors with their breadth of capability and luxury. Both the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and the GMC Yukon/Yukon XL models share a spot on the 10Best Trucks and SUVs list.

“The Car and Driver 10Best awards have long been the gold standard for excellence in this business,” says GM President Mark Reuss. “For the editors to recognize so many of our models, from such a wide range of segments and price points across our broad portfolio, is a huge honor. Congratulations to everyone on all the teams who brought us these great vehicles.”

These aren’t the only awards GM has claimed this year. TopGear.com honored GM with three category wins in its inaugural U.S. Awards. The Cadillac ESCALADE IQ earned MotorTrend SUV of the Year for 2025. The Cadillac VISTIQ was named German Car of the Year in the “luxury” category. And the winning streak goes beyond individual vehicle models: GM engineers won four R&D 100 awards this year, recognizing new, disruptive technologies.
