Car dye

Has anyone used the dye/paint they advertise that will change the colour of leather / plastic ect?
How did it go ? Was it easy to use ?
I am looking to go from the deep red used on a 1985 C5 to a bright red . Has anyone gone from dark to light ?
Any help much appreciated

Hi, I have colour changed A brown seat belt cover from tan to black and re painted lots of my black trim.I think The dye, as the usa call it is actually a spray paint for plastic not a liquid dye as we would use to colour leather. I found black on black would cover well with a light scotchbrite scuff to key the surface but I used and would suggest a grey primer for plastic prior to the colour when colour changing then you wont have any covering problems, again making sure the substrate is keyed and de greased at all stages. Have a go, you cant do anything that cant re re done and the results are surprisingly good. You could do a whole interior and transform the car for not a lot of money. 👍good luck.

I’ve used/done it a few times on interior plastic panels. Turned black into light grey on a 79 T/A, black into Tan on a mustang rag top. Worked very well provided you throughly clean and degrease the surfaces.

If you need to do fabrics as well, carpet etc I've had great results with a product called RIT
