Earlier C5 EBCM

Hi,

If buying a C5 - would you consider one of the earlier versions (2000 and before) with the not repairable EBCM?

I have seen a nice car but it's MY2000 and honestly I am scared that if it did develop the EBCM fault, I would be left with a car that would not get through it's MOT due the the fault lights this would cause. Whilst I could hope to purchase a second hand EBCM from the USA - I guess there is no guarantee how long this would last either?

Do my thoughts seem reasonable, or am I worrying too much about something which may not happen?

Thanks!

Like all faults, you only hear about the ones that go wrong. Whilst it is an issue, I think as a percentage the failure rate is still very low. Wouldn't let it put you off.
