Hi everybody,
I am new here and I really hope i can find some help besides a nice family.
Does anyone have an 81 (or 82…or whatever is the year it can be usefull
) with the anti-theft alarm system?
I have a big doubt regarding the orientation of the ring switch connected to the lock cilinders that you can install in any 90 degrees positions.
In my car (but maybe they were already replaced over the years) the wires were pointing DOWN while in the shop manual and in some other pictures they should be pointing forward.
Of course there’s a big difference in the operation:
Wires pointing down: when you insert the key (key is vertical) there is NO continuity. When you turn the key CW to unlock (key is horizontal) THERE IS continuity.
Wires pointing forward: when you insert the key (key is vertical) THERE IS continuity. When you turn the key CW to unlock (key is horizontal) the is NO continuity.
Question: is the alarm supposed to be armed with continuity (closed circuit ) or without continuity ( opened circuit)?
I attached some picture showing the sense on the shop manual and how my switch were before I took them off
Thanx in advance
FIlippo
