Hot start query.

Thanks roscob. I am starting from cold ok , i am starting hot instantly, its the 30 min restart where the fuel seems to have evapped away is the tricky one.

The fuel would have still evaporated for the cold start so I don’t think it’s that. I’d suggest it’s either the way you’re trying to start it or might be an electrical issues eg heat soak to the coil.

I had carb percolation on my 68 SBC. I fitted an Edelbrock 0.3 inch thick heat spacer gasket and its much better. Prior to that my car was hard to start after it was hot.

I could tell mine was percolating quite easily - drive somewhere to get it up to temperature / nice and hot. Then when you stop, immediately open the bonnet and you'll heat the fuel boiling in the carb. It sounds exactly like a coffee percolator. After I fitted my gasket, problem solved.
